Curriculum
Bitty Ballet: This class is structured for 2.5 to 4-year-olds that are ready to begin their dance journey. Students must wear ballet attire and ballet shoes.
Combo 1: Students will receive beginning-level training in both ballet and tap, and it is designed for students ages 4-6. The dress code for this class is a leotard and tights for girls and a fitted shirt and dance pants for boys. Ballet and tap shoes are required.
Combo 2: Students who have already mastered the content in Combo 1 are invited to continue their ballet and tap training in this course. The dress code for this class is a leotard and tights for girls and a fitted shirt and dance pants or shorts for boys. Ballet and tap shoes are required.
Combo 3: The pre-requisites for this course include Combo 1 and Combo 2. Students will advance their skills in ballet and be introduced to jazz technique. Form-fitting dance attire is required. Jazz and ballet shoes are required.
Ballet 1-3: Ballet is crucial to a dancer, as it is the foundation for all other forms of dance. Each level will focus on level-appropriate technique, vocabulary, and an overall appreciation of this genre. Dress Code: Bloch convertible or footed tights with a black leotard and pink Bloch ballet slippers. Students should not wear shorts, skirts, sweaters, or jewelry during class, and hair must be in a bun. Boys must wear a black T-shirt, black tights, white socks, and black ballet slippers.
Jazz 1-3: This course focuses on proper jazz technique (isolations, leaps, turns, etc.). Dress code: dance attire and tan Bloch jazz shoes. Hair must be pulled back.
Tap 1-3: Tap involves the intricate study of sounds and rhythmic patterns performed by the feet. Dress Code: dance attire and black tap shoes are required. Hair must be pulled back.
Hip Hop 1-3: Hip Hop classes combine street dance with funk and jazz in a highly energetic atmosphere. Dress Code: clean sneakers and clothing that allows full movement.
Lyrical 1-2: This style infuses both ballet and jazz forms to express a story to the audience. Students must have experience in ballet and jazz prior to enrolling in this class. Dress Code: form fitting dance attire and Bloch tan jazz shoes are required. Hair must be pulled out of the face.
Contemporary: This style incorporates jazz, ballet, and modern to create an organic dance form that expresses depth of expression for the audience. Dress Code: form fitting dance attire is required. Dancers should be barefoot. Hair must be pulled out of the face.
Tumblebugs: Three and four-year-olds will discover basic tumbling fundamentals in a fun and expressive environment. Dress code for girls is a leotard with hair in a braid or low pony, and boys will wear shorts and a T-shirt.
Tumbling 1-2: Students will develop acro skills that can be incorporated in choreography or just for fun. Pre-requisites for level two include back walkovers, one-handed cartwheels, and roundoffs. Dress code for Level One: girls will be in leotards with hair in a braid or low pony, and boys will wear shorts and a T-shirt. Level Two tumbling will involve a leotard and dance shorts, or a sports bra/fitted tank top and dance shorts. Hair should be pulled back. (No socks or tights should be worn)
Musical Theatre: Student will focus on becoming a "triple threat" as performers, while focusing on dancing, singing, and acting while on stage. Students must be eight years old to enroll in this class. Tan jazz shoes are required.
Leaps & Turns: Students will learn various technique to better their skills in these areas. Jazz shoes or turners are required.
Conditioning: Students will focus on strength-building and flexibility to enhance their progression as dancers.
